What to Expect...

We’ll start with a short lesson on the basics of foraging including safety, legality and ethics.

Then we’ll head out on a walk to see what wild edibles we can find! Depending on season and habitat, this will include foliage, flowers, fruits and fungi. We will also use any opportunity to impart extra nature knowledge, whether that’s bird spotting, ecology, history or toxicology - it’s not all about food!

You can expect friendly and informal tuition, and to be involved in the process! Foraging is a hands-on pursuit. At the end of our walk, we’ll review what’s in our forager’s basket, discuss cooking ideas, and share a drink of fantastic pine needle tea.

Total time: 3 hours (though this may vary depending on location, weather and the group.)

What to Bring...

Prepare for a full day outdoors. We suggest at least:

  • Warm and waterproof clothing

  • Sturdy Footwear

  • A bottle of water. Snacks optional!

  • Notebook and pen

  • A group foraging basket will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own.

If you have mobility problems, please liaise with us before booking – we may be able to help select the best location for you or arrange a bespoke course.
